Fingerprint System

We have implemented a student recognition system using biometrics at Oakfield Academy.

This system enables parents to put money into a Parentpay account. This money is then available for your child to pay for their food at break/lunchtime by simply using their fingerprint to pay. Please note, this is the only facility available to enable your child to purchase items from the cafeteria as this is a cashless system.

Delicious hot & cold lunches

Following the school joining MNSP, we are now pleased to announce that from 1 September our catering service will be overseen by the Trust’s Catering  Department which is led by Head of Catering, Gary Monger. Gary, who lives in Frome and whose children were educated at Oakfield Academy, is pleased to have the opportunity to welcome the Oakfield catering staff to MNSP’s growing team. He says “School meals have changed a lot in recent years.  Working in partnership with the school, the team will ensure that children have healthy,  nutritious and responsibly-sourced meals with a variety that will appeal to our young people and will help develop healthy eating habits that will stand them in good stead for the future.  We also try to use local suppliers wherever we can”.
The trust provides in excess of 10,000 meals per day across more than 30 schools.  The commitment to high standards means that all kitchens have 5 star ratings from environmental health.
Parents can be assured that steps are taken to ensure that any child with medical allergies can safely enjoy school meals with their friends.

Food Allergies

Change to legislation regarding food allergens in food. If your child has a food allergy you must complete the Special Diets form and return it to our school kitchen.

Breakfast Club

Oakfield Academy’s Breakfast Club will run from 8am – 8.25am each school day during the year. Pupils enter through the main Reception entrance rather than through the red gates before moving to the breakfast club room where a light breakfast is provided which may include toast, cereals light pastries and squash. At 8.25am pupils then make their way to their tutor bases.

We offer the facility for pupils to attend on specific days, weekly or termly. Costs are detailed below which are to cover the cost of staff supervision.

  • £2.50 per day
  • £11 (£2.20 per day) for a 5 day week.

Please note there are limited spaces and spaces need to be booked and paid for in advance to secure a booking.  To do this, please either phone or email the academy office giving details of your child’s name and the days/period you would like your child to attend. We will advise you if there is a space available and the relevant charge will be confirmed with you and then be set up on Parentpay to enable you to make payment prior to your child attending. Please also inform us of any details of any medical issues or allergies we need to be aware of.

For Safeguarding purposes, a register will be kept of all pupils who have a place at Breakfast Club, however we would ask you to kindly phone or email the academy if for any reason your child does not attend Breakfast Club when scheduled to attend.

All bookings need to be made at least 2 school days before your child attends to ensure registers can be updated and payment received. A member of staff will email you to confirm when this has been completed and confirm when your child will attend.
